BlackBerry Z10 & Q10 Spec-Comparison

Wednesday, August 14, 2013
BlackBerry, A powerful new operating system that adapts to our needs is based on QNX which was acquired by BlackBerry in April 2010. BlackBerry 10 with the Latest stable release    10.1.0.4181 / July 29, 2013 is the third major release of a QNX based operating system, following the release of BlackBerry Tablet OS with the BlackBerry Playbook on April 19, 2011, and BlackBerry Tablet OS version 2.0 on February 21, 2012
With the integration of HUB, Gestures, Active Frames, Peek, suggestive words in keyboard, Balance, BBM video and Time Shift BlackBerry had tried to woo the users to something new in the trend and had been successful to some extent.
With the launch of Z10 – full touch and Q10 with keyboard it entered into the market.
Both the device has been designed and crafted elegantly. They are superb in look and features and had all the best features available. One has a broad display and other a better battery, but both doing well in their respective features. Z10 has a superb 4.2 inch display and best ever touch screen keyboard whereas Q10 has 2100 mAh battery compared to 1800 mAh in Z10.
The word suggestions are extremely accurate and unlike anything seen on any other software keyboard or handset.
The blend HUB/FLOW has all my communication tools (Corporate/Personal email, BBM, and social media apps (Facebook, Tweeter - for me) in one place and easy to move around without the need to go to the grid app screen. Corporate users will find the Innovative BlackBerry Balance a very useful tool. Switching from work to personal and vice-versa helps to focus in one place.
Browsing in BB10 is like LTE speed, but the downside is that you no longer buy a BlackBerry service to go with the phone, which means no more unlimited browser internet — every session will count towards your quota. The camera’s overall performance is ordinary compared to the better cameras found on Android or iOS models
When asked how satisfied owners were with their BlackBerry 10 phones, 50.80% answered ‘very satisfied’ followed by 34.75% saying they were ‘satisfied.’ 11.57% said they were ‘somewhat satisfied’ and only 2.89% said they were ‘unsatisfied. Breaking those results down further, owners of the Z10 were slightly more satisfied than owners of the Q10.
BlackBerry has also bundled in a feature called Time Shift that, when taking a shot of a group of people, actually takes a burst of photos and then lets you selectively choose the best frame for each individual in the photo. This works well when it identifies all the faces, but in our trials it had a difficult time identifying bearded faces, which are quite common this time of year.

Compass is another simple but visually striking (and fun-to-use) app. This is just a floating compass that always points north (thanks to the integrated magnetometer), but it has a very clean, simple look that makes it a pleasant thing to look at and, as the compass disk is floating freely, it's interesting to turn the phone around and see that disk from the sides and even the bottom. Granted, not the most useful app here, but you might be more inclined to use this to find your way about than the default maps application.
