UPGRADING & RELOADING THE BLACKBERRY 10 OS

Upgrading BB 10 OS is very easy, usually the updates are pushed into the handset and the same can be upgraded directly from the handset through Mobile Internet.
However, if the upgrade size is more than 100 MB then one can upgrade over Wi-Fi connectivity.

One will find the OTA - Over The Air upgrade option here - SETTINGS - SOFTWARE UPDATES
However we always have option to upgrade the OS if not getting the official OS pushed to your device "over the air" (Settings > Software Updates) from your mobile provider or carrier.

At first remove the SIM card from the device, and in your Settings > Location Services, disable Location Services, then proceed with the steps below. Removing the SIM card remove the mobile provider identity from the device and 'may' allow you to get the update outside of your mobile provider's release.

  1. 1.      Open the Blackberry Link software on your PC and plug the device in.
  2. 2.      In the Blackberry Link software click Preferences in the top right hand corner and select Reload Device Software.
  3. 3.      Select Reload and the software will ask you to press the power button for 10 seconds.
  4. 4.      It should then detect the device and start to download the operating system.
  5. 5.      Leave the device to update and all going well it should reboot and be ready to setup.
  6. 6.      Do not disconnect your device during the process until complete.

You have successfully upgraded, reloaded the device OS.
